Grade 2

Welcome to another school year! My name is Mrs. Liyanage and I will be teaching Grade 2.

It's an incredible privilege to be a part of a child’s educational journey. Teaching is more than a profession to me; it's a vocation from God. I am dedicated to nurturing your child's intellectual, emotional, and spiritual growth. I encourage students to approach God's world with curious eyes, for there's so much beauty and wonder waiting to be discovered.

Our Gr. 2 classroom motto is: "We are PEACEMAKERS, united in Christ, learning, serving, and growing together." This motto beautifully captures our focus on fostering a harmonious and supportive learning environment.

In our classroom, I have a simple yet powerful expectation: that each student strives to be a PEACEMAKER. We'll work together to create an atmosphere of respect, kindness, and understanding. Our goal is to not only learn about various subjects but also to learn about compassion, empathy, and embracing each other's differences. Service will be a fundamental and joyous part of our journey.

Jesus teaches us that true happiness comes from loving and serving others, particularly the "least among us". By participating in acts of service, we follow in His footsteps and show love to our community. In serving others, we are also loving and serving Christ Himself. This understanding will be woven into our classroom's fabric, as we embark on projects that make a positive impact on those around us. Through service, we not only learn the value of kindness but also experience the profound joy that comes from
making a difference.

As we embark on this new school year, let us unite as a community, grounded in Christ, and walk this exciting journey of learning, serving, and growing together. Let's pray for a year filled with blessings, growth, and countless joyful moments. Thank you for entrusting me with your child's education. I am truly looking forward to an amazing year ahead, as we learn, serve, and grow in Christ's love. God bless you all.
