Yes. We have a Student Assistance Program with up to 25% of fees being available. An application form is available at the school office.
Yes. That portion of the overall fees dedicated to religious instruction is determined by the Society Executive according to Revenue Canada guidelines and is tax-deductible.
Contact the school and arrange for an interview with the Principal and the Office Administrator. Bring along a copy of your child's most recent report card. You will have opportunity to have your questions answered, receive information about the school and tour the school facility. Upon agreement between your family and our administration that Menno Simons Christian School is the best educational facility for your children, a completed Registration Form and payment of a $100.00 non-refundable registration fee will create a placement for your student of the succeeding school term.
Yes. Our school offers the full academic program required by Alberta Education from Kindergarten to Grade Nine. Our students consistently achieve at or above the performance standards established by Alberta Education.
The enrolment for the 2011 - 2012 school year is 206, enrolment cap is 210. Guidelines for class sizes are: K-1 - 18 students; Gr. 2 - 3 - 20 students; Gr. 4-6 - 22 students, Gr. 7-9 - 24 students. We do have wait lists which you can complete in advance.
No. About 20% of our students are affiliated with Mennonite congregations and many other denominations are represented in our student body. Parents, who commit themselves to support the values and philosophy of our school, are welcome to apply to enrol their children in our school.
Most students are driven to school by their parents or travel by public transportation. A Parent Committee arranges car-pool transportation for interested parents in various geographical areas of the city.
