Menno Simons Christian School

About Menno Simons Christian School

The school is operated through a partnership of Palliser Regional Schools and the Mennonite Educational Society of Calgary. In June 2006 Menno Simons Christian school joined with Palliser Regional Schools as part of the Province of Alberta's Alternative Schools Program.

Menno Simons Christian School was established by a group of parents from a number of Mennonite churches in Calgary, and first opened its doors in the fall of 1983. Since that time, the school has continued to grow and has provided educational services in rented facilities at four locations.

In the spring of 1997, Menno Simons Christian School purchased its own facility on Northmount Drive. This location served well for several years, but did not seem to meet the growing needs of the school community.

The decision was made to construct a new school, designed to meet our future program and growth needs. In the Fall of 2001, school commenced in the new building at 7000 Elkton Drive (our current location). .
